For the bench

Design the fragrance you've always wanted

The scent you've been chasing may not exist yet. Describe it in plain language and the engine drafts a real formula, which you refine gram by gram until it's yours, then print as a lab-ready sheet.

The engine, in three lines

Why working perfumers keep it open
01. Insight

Every formula, read back to you

Drop in any formula and it comes back fully analyzed: the top, heart, and base pyramid, an olfactive radar, projection and longevity, the per-material breakdown, and the cost. It's the read a perfumer does by hand at the bench, returned in a moment.

02. Reproducibility

The same brief, the same formula

Nothing here is random. Run a brief today or in six months and the identical formula comes back, reproducible to four decimals against a 260-material catalog, so a result you trust is one you can always return to.

03. Conception

From a sentence to a draft you can build on

Type the fragrance you have in mind and the engine drafts a first version in seconds, every material and proportion already laid out in front of you, ready to edit, rebalance, and make your own.

03 The premise

The engine drafts, the nose decides

The engine can place every material and show you why a structure holds. It cannot smell what it built. That part stays yours.

Same brief, same formula, to four decimals, placed from a curated catalog of real materials with real physics behind them. A sentence becomes a draft, then the deterministic engine seats every material and works out the structure, the way a fixative stretches a drydown or a heavy base pulls a bright top down into the heart.

What it gives you is the how and the why, before you ever reach for a pipette. What it does not give you is the verdict on skin. Longevity, projection, sillage, the pyramid: all of it is estimated from the materials, never measured from a finished blend. A real maceration drifts from the model, and when it does, you record what you smelled and the page defers to you.

So treat it as scaffolding for your own judgment, not a substitute for it. It gets you to a lab-ready, reproducible draft faster than you could alone, then hands it back for the work no software can do, smelling it and deciding what is right.

05 Questions

Some answers

Is this for hobbyists or working perfumers?
It's built first for the working or indie perfumer composing for clients or a brand. The workflow follows how they move through a bench session, and the trade vocabulary is theirs. If you're a serious hobbyist aiming at that level, you'll grow into it. The same engine runs on every plan.
What does the AI actually do?
From a plain-language brief it drafts an editable starting formula you can take straight into the workspace, and for saved formulas it will write a scent story and suggest names. The composition itself stays deterministic, with every material drawn from the catalog, so the AI proposes and the engine decides.
Is there a free plan?
Yes, and it is a real plan: 10 AI credits a month and unlimited saved formulas, on the full catalog. The 7-day trial then opens all of Studio Pro, including supplier sourcing and the lab-ready PDF, so you can run a genuine composition before you decide.
Do you store my formulas?
Formulas are private to your account. Export CSV any time. If you cancel, the formulas stay and the account drops to Free.
Where does the material data come from?
A curated catalog of 260 naturals and aroma chemicals, each carrying its descriptor profile, volatility, and typical use level so the engine can place it accurately in a formula. Live supplier prices are landing on the catalog now.
Can I substitute something I can't source?
Yes. When a material is out of reach, the cost optimizer finds the nearest match by descriptor profile and rebalances everything around it so the accord still holds, which is most of the work in reformulating by hand.
What is the Formulary?
A shared library of accord editions that makers publish and others can browse and take straight into their own workspace to build on. Browsing and taking are open to any paid plan, while publishing your own edition is a Studio Pro act, and it is how your work gets seen by other perfumers.
